伊恩‧史都華

Ian Stewart

英國華威大學（University of Warwick）數學榮譽教授，利用一部分時間研究非線性動力學，其餘時間用來推動一般大眾認識數學。

因推廣數學而聞名，曾獲1995年英國皇家學會法拉第獎（Royal Society’s Faraday Medal）、2000年數學及其應用協會金獎（IMA Gold Medal）、2001年美國科學促進會公眾理解科學暨科技獎（AAAS Public Understanding of Science and Technology Award）、2008年倫敦數學學會／數學及其應用協會齊曼獎（LMS/IMA Zeeman Medal），並在2001年獲選為英國皇家學會院士。

著有多本科普書籍，包括《大自然的數學遊戲》（Nature's Numbers）、《生物世界的數學遊戲》（Life's Other Secret）、《給青年數學家的信》（Letters to a Young Mathematician）、《改變世界的17個方程式》（Seventeen Equations that Changed the World）、《數學是什麼？》（What is Mathematics?，合著）等。

本書的App應用程式「Professor Stewart’s Incredible Numbers」由Profile出版社和Touch Press公司在2014年3月共同發行，受美國及加拿大應用程式商店評選為「2014年最佳App」，並榮獲2015年Digital Book World成人非小說類「電子書獎」（Digital Book Award）。
